If you’re looking for something to do right now as we’re stuck in the outback between Christmas and New Years, how about popping out to the rest of the world for the festive season of the year next ?
OK, so that sounds like a bit of a stretch, but one woman claims she’s already come a long way and has bought and wrapped all her presents for next Christmas.
We haven’t even hit the January sales yet, but this woman has shared online that she can now stand for most of the year because she already has.
Sharing the incredible feat on the Extreme Couponing and Bargaining UK Facebook group, the pre-emptive Christmas shopper revealed that she managed to visit Tesco and Boots to take advantage of some post-Christmas deals and prepare for next year before most of us took down our decorations.
Apparently all the transport she shared with the group cost her £176, but it should have cost a lot more and should have been had she bought the goods – which take up an entire bed – before Christmas 2022.
In her original post, she said: “Half price boot sale and Tesco clothing and club card bargains (boots were £176 total savings of £178 so I actually saved more than I spent) all packed up and ready for next year.”
Among the things she already has are Peppa Pig and Mickey Mouse clothes, as well as Harry Potter and Lynx gifts and a Friends Monopoly board game.
Since sharing her tactic, the post has racked up 7,400 reactions and 1,900 comments.
However, not everyone responded positively.
Hey, it’s the internet, after all.
One person said: “It’s sad you feel like you have to do Christmas 1 year early…love a bargain like we all do, I seriously think that’s a bit too far.
“Enjoy life and live it day to day because there will be plenty of great deals on the way.”
Another said: “I really couldn’t be screwed with this. I’m enjoying this Christmas but not next.”
A third warned: ‘Toiletries and lip gloss won’t be good next year, there’s a reason they’re cutting back and not just taking the shelf off until the end. next year.”
That said, others hailed it as a “good idea” and said, “I want to be this organized.”
This must take the Christmas stress away a bit, but it also seems a bit too much.
