RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) – The next stop on NBC12’s vacation home tour is 2300 Wistar Court – the home of Mr. Christmas from Henrico which features 100,000 lights.
âIt catches your eye as soon as you turn the corner. I wanna catch you, I wanna get you in the Christmas mood, “said Frank Hudak aka Mr. Christmas.” We’ve been doing Christmas housekeeping for 46 years now. the Shelf, Nut Krackers and Winnie the Poo.
In addition to the lights, Frank stands outside and greets all his visitors in his homemade Santa Claus costume.
âUsually around 6 am I finish dinner and am here every night unless it rains,â Hudak said.
Over the past 25 years, his vacation home has not only brought joy to the hundreds of people who have visited him, but it also benefits thousands of children at Virginia Home for the Boys and Girls as he has raised over $ 135,000.

âThis is my gift to the children, my gift to Richmond,â said Hudak.
This year, Mr. Christmas hopes to exceed that amount in dollars from previous years.
âThis year I’m pushing and hoping we maybe get over $ 150,000,â Hudak said.
As you enjoy Mr. Christmas’s 100,000 light creation, remember this is giving season.
âLook around, the people are nice, the people are warm,â Hudak said. “This is the only time of the year when you can surely enjoy the joy of the world.”
