Coudersport Christmas House to host an open house on Thursday | Olean


COUDERSPORT, Pa .– The public is invited to stop by the Christmas House in Coudersport from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. today for the annual open house.

The Christmas House volunteers welcome this opportunity to provide information about the important missions of this non-profit organization. Volunteers will serve homemade soups, sandwiches and desserts throughout the day.

Families with children are invited to stop between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to visit Santa Claus.

Organizers said the Christmas House provides Christmas gifts to needy Potter County families every holiday season. Families are encouraged to inquire about registration by calling (814) 274-0825. Leave a message with a callback number and a volunteer will call you back to gather the appropriate information.

The gifts will be distributed to families from the beginning of December. The deadline to register has been extended until today.

Christmas House’s mission extends beyond the holiday season to provide assistance in paying overdue utility bills and rent, as well as emergency food and clothing. School shoes are provided to children from families meeting income criteria.

The Christmas House is located in the basement of the First Presbyterian Church, 402 N. Main St. Follow the signs on the Fourth Street side of the building. An elevator is available for those who have difficulty climbing stairs.
