‘Grinch’ seen stealing Christmas decorations from Yulee’s house

Someone called “The Grinch” hit a neighborhood in Yulee last month.

In the middle of the night, someone on camera could be seen stepping out of a truck and stealing two Christmas chicken decorations in Brian and Tabatha Strauder’s front yard.

“I was pissed off. I felt violated. It really upset me that someone would do something like that,” Strauder said.

The theft took place on November 24 at the Timbercreek Plantation in Yulee. Strauder reported the theft to the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office, but has no idea who the Grinch is.

“Getting stuff out of someone’s backyard when you’re doing it all for Christmas hurts,” Strauder said. The Strauders’ house is usually adorned with decorations and twinkling lights wrapped around the house, in sync with the Christmas music.

“We try to grasp the reason for the season because it is not about giving gifts, it is not about receiving, but about the presence of our Lord who was born on that day”, she added.

Strauder said she does not plan to press charges.

“I just want them to stop,” she said. “This is wrong. This is one of the 10 commandments that you will not steal.

She just hopes the Grinch leaves the neighborhood alone.

If you know anything about the flight, you are encouraged to call the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office.
