LOGAN SQUARE – Nothing says Christmas in Logan Square – heck, maybe even the whole city – like the ornate house on Logan Boulevard and Talman Avenue.

You know the house – the one that is so spectacularly lit it looks like it belongs in a Christmas movie.

Each year, the house at 2656 W. Logan Blvd. attracts thousands of fans like longtime Logan Square resident Elizabeth Chacon.

“When it snows, it’s so beautiful,” said Chacon, who has been bringing his children and family to visit the house every year for a decade. “Every year he does something different.”

Chacon refers to longtime owner Frank Lopez, who is responsible for the elaborate holiday light show.

Lopez has been transforming his home into a Christmas-lover’s dream every winter since 1983. He makes all the decorations, from palm trees to a herd of reindeer, in his studio, Chicago Wire Design Company, according to Chicagoist.

Every year, tons of kids drop off letters to Santa at Lopez’s. Lopez told the blog that he used to deliver gifts to children’s homes, but now he usually only responds to a few letters with a “little something.”

No word on how many letters Lopez has received or gifts he’s given this year, as he wasn’t available for an interview, but here are some photos of his home in all its glory:
