This year, the preliminary judgment took place on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday December 13, 14 and 15 from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. each evening. The final judgment of the Top Ten is scheduled for MONDAY, DECEMBER 20 from 6.30 p.m. to 10 p.m.. The judges’ bus leaves the Iberia Bank car park at 6.15 p.m. Traditionally, a caravan of cars follows the bus to get a direct view of the Top 10 homes. All owners of the Top 10 Homes receive a plaque and the top winner receives the coveted “yard sign,” a special winner’s plaque, LCEC Roving Trophy and a $ 100 IberiaBank Spirit Award gift card sponsored by IberiaBank.

Committee Chairman Dave Rice said: “A record 2,015 homes were decorated this year – (we’re counting!)”

It’s a positive note that families have come together to decorate for the holidays.

The companies were judged separately on their exterior decorations. The winner receives a plaque and a garden sign. Many previous residential and commercial contest winners flaunt their garden signs each year and continue to decorate in the spirit of the season.

Rice can be contacted by email at or by cellphone at 239-250-2175 for more information.
