According to Sheriff Grady Judd, Johnson stole about $ 1,600 worth of items from a house in east Lakeland.
LAKELAND, Fla .– It was the fourth day after Christmas when Polk County MPs were able to arrest a man accused of stealing gifts from a house in east Lakeland days before the holidays.
Raheim Johnson, 28, was arrested Wednesday on multiple burglary charges, according to the sheriff’s office.
Last week, Sheriff Grady Judd said at 7:30 a.m. on December 20, Johnson broke into a house in the Longfellow Boulevard area east of Lakeland. A single mother had left the house a few minutes earlier.
“It’s called ‘The 2021 Christmas Grinch with Eggnog Brain”, and we want him in jail… I want him to wake up in the County Jail for Christmas. Give this to me for my Christmas present. Christmas, please? ” Judd said at the time.
The video showed Johnson entering and exiting the house picking up items from the house. Among the stolen items were a working laptop, a 36-inch television and Christmas gifts for two girls aged 8 and 11.
According to Judd, Johnson stole around $ 1,600 worth of items from the house.
“My assistants did an amazing job locating this Grinch. I’m grateful for all the advice we received from the community. And although he wasn’t in jail this Christmas, he is in jail now,” he said. Judd said in a statement.
Johnson is currently being held at Polk County Jail without bond, according to the sheriff’s office.
