A Christmas gift delivery is now complete.

On Sunday we posted about a large bag of Christmas gifts found in the area of 9 1/2 Mile Road and Pine Forest Road on Christmas morning.

The gifts weren’t found by just any old Scrooge, but by a special elf. No, a Christmas angel who returned the presents to the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office.

Norman Carlisle read the story from NorthEscambia.com around 1.15am Sunday and knew immediately the gifts belonged to his adult daughter Jaclyn Chattin.

“We packed them off 9 1/2 Mile Road and were heading home,” she said. “They fell off our truck.”

The gifts were intended for Chattin’s 5-year-old son, Dawson, as family gifts for Christmas.

Chattin claimed the gifts Monday morning at the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office for Dawson, and the sheriff’s office chipped away at a gift bag full of goodies, including a mug and an official ESCO football.

“Thank you for the message and especially to this honest person who returned them,” Carlisle wrote on Facebook.

“It’s a Merry Christmas,” Chattin said.
