The study was conducted by gifting company Vistaprint, which found that 72% of people want a heartfelt and unique gift.

They found that personalized items, like clothing and photo books, were well received.

However, they also found gifts that didn’t do as well, and 60% of respondents said they had given back uninspiring gifts in the past.

The most unpopular gift turned out to be a simple photo frame, with 34% of people saying they would return it.

The third most unpopular gift was scented candles – according to 32% – followed by beauty sets (30%).

And if you want to send a thoughtful gift, maybe skip chocolate boxes, and they turned out to be the fifth most disappointing gift, with 29% giving.

This follows a Facebook post asking people to avoid giving the gift sets to the women in their lives, despite them being in the current section of nearly every major store.

It has since been shared almost 300,000 times, which shows how accurate it was for women around the world.
