WWith the holiday season quickly approaching, the US Postal Service, FedEx, and UPS have released final dates for shipping Christmas gifts.
Earlier this month, the USPS announced it would begin implementing new services that will slow the average mail delivery time by 30 percent. Prices are expected to increase during the holiday season.

According to the postal service, if customers want their packages to arrive on time and want to send their packages overland, they should post them by December 15. First class packages should be shipped by December 17 and customers should send priority mail by December 18. However, suppose a customer needs to send things right away. In that case, they can still use the extremely expensive priority express to ship items as late as 23 december. These dates will be different for residents of Alaska and Hawaii.
The Postal Service recommends that consumers send gifts before December 6, as this is the date when customer traffic increases dramatically.
FedEx offers similar guidelines. Home delivery and ground packages should be shipped by December 15. FedEx Express Saver and 3Day Freight have limited flexibility but must be sent by December 21. FedEx 2Day packages should be sent by 22 december. For those who need to send things immediately, FedEx still offer 1 day freight and overtime, which can get the package there if sent by 23 december. Finally, those who don’t have the time can use FedEx SameDay to deliver their packages for extremely high fees.
If customers want to ship Christmas gifts via UPS, selected 3-day shipping should be sent by December 21, the 2-day air must be sent by 22 december, and the air of the next day must be sent by December 23. All domestic and ground shipments via UPS will be region dependent, but will take an average of one to five days.
